False Bay, Whole Bunch Cinsault – Mourvèdre Rosé 2021

420,000

Named after South Africa’s most iconic bay, which frames the country’s premium winelands, False Bay Vineyards was borne out of a desire to make ‘real’ wine affordable. A delicately spiced and deliciously fruity, dry rose from Cinsault and Mourvedre grapes. A very quaffable, fresh and fruity wine from the famous False Bay vineyards in South Africa. The grapes for this classic Rhone style rose come from two very distinct regions. The old Cinsault vineyards in the Stellenbosch area and a small portion of Mourverdre from the Paarl region make up this terrific blend.

Tasting notes
A proper crisp and dry rose which has fruity notes from strawberry, peach, apple, pear with tropical fruit and citruit on the palate for a lovely clean, savoury and dry finish.

Gastronomy
This wine works well with Asian and Mediterranean dishes with fresh seafoods or just enjoy it on its own.

Vineyards
Whole Bunch Cinsault Mourvèdre is not cobbled together from off-cuts of leftover red and white wine. Nor is it over-cropped red grapes pressed aggressively to maximise juice yield and confected aromas. The wine comes from low-yielding, coastal vineyards, delicately whole-bunch basket pressed for only the purest juice. A fine wine that happens to be pink. Biodynamic vineyards.

Aging method
Oak barrels
